Overview

The Agent Services Director of Sales position is responsible for planning and implementing sales, customer and agent development programs, both short and long term, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties personally or through Agent Business Development team. 

Responsibilities

Sales Director Responsibilities

Include and not limited to the following:

 

-Owning and hitting/exceeding budgeted sales margin and volume targets within FTL, LTL and  Parcel modes

-Developing and executing strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand customer base    and agent profitability

-Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer/agent relationships

  1. Develops and implements strategic customer plans and sales fore-cast to achieve company objectives and understand their business needs. 
  2. Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals, presentations with vendors and customers.
  3. Develops and oversees Manager of Strategic Business Development and business development team.
  4. Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, on-line, and electronic media to existing agents.
  5. Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts sales growth strategy to meet changing market and industry landscape conditions.
  6. Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  7. Meets with key customers, assisting agents with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing customer accounts.
  8. Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units i.e. National Sales.
  9. Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
  10. Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  11. Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness. 
  12.  Directs service/value add research and development. 

  13. Reporting on forces that shift tactical and strategic direction of accounts.

Ideal candidate

 

A high-performing Director of Sales that will meet our Agent and Customer growth, volume and margin growth objectives aligning with 4DX. Director of Sales responsibilities include developing key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans. Successful execution of these strategies is required to achieve divisional and company financial targets. Director of Sales duties will include hitting annual targets, building relationships and understanding customer and industry trends.
