  • Overview

    We are looking for a high-performing Director of Sales. The successful candidate will meet our agent and customer growth, volume and profitability growth objectives through developing key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans. Successful execution of these strategies is required to achieve divisional and company financial targets.

    Responsibilities

    • Employee coaching & developmentthrough career planning to identify and assess training and development
    • Owning and hitting/exceeding budgeted sales margin and volume targets within FTL, LTL and Parcel modes
    • Developing and executing strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand customer base and agent profitability
    • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer/agent relationships
    • Develops and implements strategic agent/customer development plans and sales forecasts to achieve company objectives and understand their business needs.
    • Work with the Recruiting team, Operations & Business Development teams to implement targeted sales strategy
    • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance priorities accordingly. 
    • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals, presentations with vendors and customers
    • Understand and effectively communicate the company's value prop, technology, processes and current partnerships
    • Develop employees through COACH Team principles and oversee Manager of Strategic Business Development and business team development. 
    • Ownership of periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion. 
    • Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
    • Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts sales growth strategy to meet changing market and industry landscape conditions. 
    • Continuous review and analysis of sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness. 
    • Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, and electronic media to existing agents.
    • Meets with key customers, assisting agents with maintaining relationships and negotiating to close customer accounts. 
    • Coordinates liaison between internal sales departments and other sales support divisions. 
    • Directs product research and development.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    Travel

    Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
